Pokemon League Challenge - 2/16/2019 at 1:00 pm (2019 Standard Format)

This League Challenge is part of the 2019 Pokemon Championship Point Season! This is your chance to earn points to qualify for the 2019 World Championship.

This tournament is 2019 STANDARD FORMAT. All sets printed from "Sun & Moon" through "Team Up" are legal.

Additional expansions become legal the 3rd Friday after they are released in the United States.

Plan to arrive at 1:00 pm to register your deck. The first round is scheduled to begin promptly at 1:30 pm.

Players who have not checked in and submitted decklists by 1:25 pm will be dropped from the event and will
forfeit any registration fees. If you cancel your registration by the Thursday prior to the event, your registration fee will be refunded in the form of store credit. No cash or credit card refunds.

There will be no seating guaranteed for non-players, so plan accordingly. Spectators are not permitted to stand next to matches in progress. Please familiarize yourself with Spandex City Tournament policies (including food/drink)

If you are registering a Junior or Senior Division child and do not plan to remain on site for the entire event, we will need a mobile phone number which we can use to contact you during the event.

Please be prepared with a fully completed decklist when you arrive. You can download a blank decklist sheet here.

Age Divisions are Junior (born 2007 or later), Senior (born 2003-2006), Masters (born 2002 or earlier)

League Challenge tournaments are designed to provide players with small, entry-level events on a local scale. These events are a great way to get your feet wet in the world of Premier Events.

If you have never played in a Premier level event, here are some IMPORTANT rules from the Pokemon Company that you need to be aware of:
* All cards must be "STANDARD" legal (see above)
* All cards must be in English
* Cards may not have signatures or any extra markings
* If your cards are in sleeves, those sleeves must be identical, solid-colored sleeves – no patterns or art allowed
* If your cards are not in sleeves, the cards must not have any visible wear
* If you use dice to determine coin flip results, the dice must be transparent or translucent
* You MUST complete and submit a decklist for the event- please be prepared with this before you arrive. You can download a blank decklist at https://assets.pokemon.com//assets/cms2/pdf/play-pokemon/rules/play-pokemon-deck-list-85x11.pdf

In the Pokémon Trading Card Game League Challenge tournaments, players in each of the three POP-recognized age divisions can work toward earning Championship Points, potentially earning an invitation to the World Championships!

The tournament is run using the Standard Format and Age-Modified Swiss pairings. See the Pokémon Tournament Rules for information about the Standard Format and Swiss. The number of Swiss rounds to be run will depend on total attendance at the event. Each round of Swiss is a single-game match of 30 minutes plus 3 turns. League Challenge tournaments do not include a Single-Elimination portion; placement in the event is determined by final Swiss standings.

This is a PREMIER level event, so rules enforcement will be strict. All cards must be in good condition (i.e. indistinguishable from one another on the back) or sleeved in opaque single-colored sleeves. Patterned sleeves are not permitted, unless they are official Pokemon sleeves.

What are the prizes?

Participants will receive 1 Play! Point just for playing! Other prizes are all awarded based on place standing in your age division. (i.e. Even though you may face other players in different age divisions, your prize earnings are based only on your placement relative to other players in the same age division.)
